R.I.P. Michael Clarke Duncan (December 10, 1957 – September 3, 2012) who died at the age of just 54. Michael Clarke Duncan was best known for his breakout role as John Coffey in The Green Mile.

50 years ago on August 5th, actress, model, singer and sex symbol Marilyn Monroe died at the age of only 36. Her cause of death was a Barbiturate overdose, a drug. 50 years later the spirit of Marilyn Monroe lives on as a symbol of 1950-60’s.

Double Exposure Paintings by Pakayla Biehn

Double exposure is an art in itself. It isn’t used that much nowadays in photography since almost everybody has a digital camera now. Artist Pakayla Rae Biehn took the concept of double exposure and applied it to her paintings. She uses images of other artists and paints another layer on them, creating beautiful images in the process.

Summer Days in Rio de Janeiro

Isac Goulart shot this amazing photograph which shows the beauty of summer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The photo features a beautiful colour palette full with the colours of summer, yellow, orange and red. In the foreground we see some a silhouette of people kicking a ball around on the beach.

Isac Goulart got a perfect exposure on this photograph, showing just a bit of the flats in the background while exposing the beach in a beautiful way.

I wish the Dutch summer ware more like this photograph. Currently we mostly have rain over here.

Majestic

Majestic is a high-key photograph of an Kruger Elephant Bull. Shot my Mario Moreno, the high-key effect makes the elephant look really impressive and strong.

Shot in South Africa, where Mario Moreno shoots a lot of wildlife. It’s likely that the high-key effect was achieved in photoshop, since it’s unlikely that Moreno brought a Kruger Elephant into a studio to shoot it with studio lights.

Even still it’s an impressive photograph showing the beauty of the beast.
