I finally got around to finishing this photo of Catja smoking in front of a window. Her tattoo goes very well with the strong black and white contrast is this photograph. I’m really satisfied with how this shot turned out!

This is one of the artistic nude shots I’m most proud and I finally got to share it. I shot this in the studio a while ago. The model is actually sitting on a table in front of a white background. I used two strobes to light the background and a small softbox to add some details in her face.

Philadelphia Homeless by Tom Gralish, 1986 Pulitzer Prize.
“I like any kind of food. Whatever’s there, I buy it. Hot dog one day, the next Chinese food, roast beef sandwich.” — Walter, Philadelphia, the homeless.
Walter allows Gralish to photograph him- “People like it when you pay attention to them. These guys had disdain for society and the rules: that’s why they objected to the shelters. They saw themselves as the last free men.”
The masked girl
Amazing portrait of a women with a beautiful mask. Photographed Russian photographer Aleksandra88.
I love how much detail there is in the black, floral mask. Again Aleksandra88 shows that she likes to play with contrast in her photography. In this case a black and white contrast.
What do you get if you combine: a cat, perfect composition, geometry and a lot of windows, catometry!
Photographer Endegor from Russia puts a effort into the composition of his photography, which you can see in this photograph.
The photograph consists of vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines, dividing the picture in equally large zones. The cat sticks out in the middle dividing the picture in half horizontally and vertically.
The use of black and white emphasizes all the lines in the photograph and makes for an interesting contrast.
A perfect contrast
I haven’t posted work by Aleksandra88 for a while, just to also have some different artists featured on this blog. But Aleksandra88 is back with this beautiful photograph with a perfect contrast.
Aleksandra88 has proven herself many times, mastering contrast and composition in photography. In this photograph she used a black model against a black background. Overexposing the model slightly so that she stands out from the background.
The model wears a black and white dress and wears a black chain. To finish of the black and white contrast Aleksandra88 added a white border.
All together it makes for an interesting play in contrast and composition.
An interesting way to smoke
What to do if your friend has a cigarette in his ear? Smoke it and photograph it of course! It’s also a good use of the hole in your ear, just use it to carry cigarettes with you (if you’re a smoker of course). Just watch out nobody steals your cigarette
Glamour photography in a tasteful way
The beautiful and sexy Crisilde is back. This time in a high-key glamour photograph. I would say it’s glamour photography done the right way. On the internet you can find so many distasteful and cheap examples of glamour photography.
In my opinion this is a photo that shows the beautiful and sexy side of Crisilde while remaining tasteful and without turning her into a sexual object. This doesn’t make the photo perfect, but I think it’s one of my best works so far.

Julia in the dunes by z-tox photography
Julia poses in the dunes of Schiermonnikoog, a small isle in the North of the Netherlands. I love the look of her back and spine in this picture.
